Custom Liquid Development for Shopify

Custom Shopify functionality without forcing everything through an app

Shopify Liquid gives a theme access to store data and lets developers build storefront experiences around the products, collections and content already in Shopify. I use Liquid with HTML, CSS, JSON templates and storefront JavaScript where the requirement calls for it.

What I build with Custom Liquid

  • Custom sections and reusable Theme Editor blocks
  • Product-page components and information layouts
  • Dynamic content using Shopify objects and metafields
  • Collection and landing-page sections
  • Responsive components for desktop and mobile
  • Theme fixes where existing Liquid logic is causing problems

Built to remain practical

Custom code should not make normal store management harder. Where possible, I expose useful settings in the Theme Editor so the merchant can update routine content without editing code.

When Custom Liquid is the right approach

It is a good fit when the requirement belongs in the storefront theme and existing settings cannot handle it cleanly. Some functionality is still better handled by a dedicated Shopify app; the implementation should match the requirement rather than adding custom code for its own sake.
