Shopify Speed Optimization & Storefront Performance

Improve Shopify performance without blindly adding more apps

A slow storefront can come from oversized media, theme code, third-party scripts, apps or a combination of factors. I start by identifying what is actually affecting the storefront before making changes.

What I check

  • Heavy images and media loading
  • Theme sections and unnecessary code
  • Third-party scripts and app impact
  • Mobile layout and interaction friction
  • Lazy loading and resource behavior
  • Storefront issues introduced by previous customizations

Performance work should preserve the store experience

The goal is not to remove useful features just to chase a score. Changes should balance storefront performance with the design, functionality and customer experience the business actually needs.

Speed and conversion are related, but not identical

A faster page can reduce friction, but product clarity, trust, navigation and mobile usability still matter. That is why I review performance in the context of the storefront rather than treating one speed score as the entire goal.
